PPI’s new web page provides answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) about polypropylene pressure piping systems. The PP FAQ webpage, located directly on the PPI website at https://Plasticpipe.org/bcd-pp-faqs, is free and has been developed as another tool to assist and benefit the industry. PPI is the main trade association representing the plastic pipe industry.
“Polypropylene (PP) is one of the most common types of plastic materials,” explains Lance McNevin, engineering educator and technical director of PPI’s construction division, who developed the page. “There are two types of polypropylene materials for pressure pipes – PP-R and PP-RCT – and this new FAQ page contains more than twenty frequently asked questions about these materials, as well as the pipes and fitting systems made from them, as well as detailed informational answers. “
The new web page was developed in consultation with PPI member companies that supply PP-R and PP-RCT pipe and resins to North America. The topics covered are relevant to assigned engineers, distributors and installers.
This FAQ web page is one of several PPI resources on the design and installation of pressure piping materials that are published as an industry service by PPI Building & Construction. Additional resources on polypropylene pressure piping systems include a polypropylene information web page and a plastic piping calculator.
